This tofu mixture can be used as a ricotta cheese substitute in lasagnas, casseroles, pasta dishes and many other dishes.
Ingredients
- 1 (14-ounce) package firm tofu, drained
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp fresh chopped basil
- sea salt and black pepper to taste
Directions
- Wrap tofu in 3 or 4 layers of paper towels and gently press out as much water as possible, changing the paper towels once or twice as needed
- Transfer tofu to a large bowl and add all ingredients and mash with a fork
